Raise your hand if you’ve been on vacation before and completely fallen off the wagon. Good, I’m not the only one.
I went to Nashville Tennessee this past week, and boy did I fall off the wagon. It wasn’t so much the food as much as the booze but I assure you, I did in fact nose dive off the sugar cliff of hell.
You know what though? Shit happens.
This week I want to talk about how we get back on the wagon after we’ve been kicked off for a few days.
So, everyone eats bad in their own way. For me, I didn’t really eat that poorly but I sure took down a plethora of sugar filled adult beverages. From wine to margaritas and everything in between, my belly got its’ fill. With that being said, for me, getting back to clean eating means cutting the sugar.
Monday I went right back to my macros, tracking everything I ate. Honestly, in just 24 hours, I’m already feeling better. It’s as though my body was saying “Thank Goodness! It’s business as usual again”. For me, getting back to healthy eating is easier than it is for others. I can bounce back fairly quickly. I know that isn’t the case for everyone though.
My suggestion to those of you that struggle getting back on the wagon is simple. Follow these three steps.
- Start eating clean again. Just START! If you don’t start, you can’t get back on track. It really is that simple.
- Remember your WHY. Remember your GOALS. Remember why you are doing this!
- If and When you fall off the wagon again, START again! Don’t give up.
Don’t over complicate it. It doesn’t have to be that hard. Trust in your abilities. You’ve hopped on the wagon before, you can do it again. Who’s with me??
